Message from Our Lady Queen of Peace to Edson Glauber

The Lord has given me this reading today for all Holy Church and humanity to meditate on.

Joshua, 7

1.The Israelites committed an infidelity concerning the interdict. Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Za-ra, of the tribe of Judah, retained for himself some things condemned, and the anger of the Lord flared up against the Israelites. 2.Joshua sent men from Jericho to Hai, situated near Beth-aven, east of Bethel: "Go up," he said to them, "and explore the land. They went up and explored Hai. 3.When they returned to Joshua, they said to him, "It is useless for all the people to go up, but just go two or three thousand men and take the city. Let not all the people be fatigued, for the population of the city is very small." 4.Three thousand men approximately set out, but they were beaten by the people of Hai, 5 falling dead thirty-six men; the enemies pursued them from the city gate to Sabarim, even as they fled up the hillside. The people were dismayed at this and lost all courage. 6.Joshua tore his clothes and prostrated himself with his face to the ground until evening before the ark of the LORD, both he and the elders of Israel, and covered their heads with dust. Oh Lord," cried Joshua, "why have you brought this people over the Jordan, that you should deliver us into the hands of the Amorites, who will destroy us? Would that we had stayed on the other side of the river! 8.What shall I say, O Lord, when I see Israel turning their backs on their enemies? 9.The Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will know it, and will surround us and make our name disappear from the face of the earth. And what will you do to your great name? "10.Then the Lord said to Joshua, "Get up! Why are you thus prostrate with your face to the ground? 11.Israel has sinned, to the point of violating the covenant that I had prescribed for them, and to the point of taking the things voted off, stealing them, hiding them, concealing them among the baggage. 12.This is why the Israelites could not resist their enemies, but turned their backs on them, for they fell under the interdict. If you do not remove the curse from your midst, I will no longer be with you from now on. 13.Go and sanctify the people. Say to them, 'Purify yourselves for tomorrow, for behold what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: The anathema is in the midst of you, Israel. You will not be able to resist your enemies until you have removed the anathema that is in the midst of you.' 14.You will come tomorrow, tribe by tribe; the tribe that is appointed by the Lord will present itself family by family; and the appointed family will present itself by its houses; and the house appointed by the Lord will present itself by persons. 15.He who is designated as possessing the interdict shall be burned, he and all that belongs to him, because he has violated the covenant of the Lord and committed an infamy in Israel." 16.The next day in the morning, Joshua had the people come, tribe by tribe, and the lot fell on the tribe of Judah. 17.Then, as the families of Judah came near, the lot indicated the family of Zarah. He brought the family of Zarah near by households, and the lot fell on the family of Zabdi, 18.which came near by persons; the lot fell on Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zarah, of the tribe of Judah. 19.Joshua said to him, "My son, give glory and honor to the Lord, the God of Israel; confess to me what you have done, and hide nothing." 20.Achan answered Joshua, "Yes, it is I who have sinned against the LORD, the God of Israel. This is what I have done: 21.I saw among the spoils a beautiful robe from Senaar, two hundred shekels of silver, and a bar of gold of fifty shekels, and I coveted it and took it. All this is hidden in the earth in the middle of my tent, and the silver under the robe. "* 22.Joshua sent some men to investigate the tent, and they saw that the objects were hidden there, and the silver underneath. 23.They took them and brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites and laid them before the Lord. 24.Then Joshua, in the presence of all Israel, took Achan the son of Zara, with the silver, the robe, the bar of gold, the sons and daughters of Achan, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and all that belonged to him, and brought them to the valley of Achor. 25.When he arrived there, Joshua said, "Why have you confused us? The Lord confound you today!". All the Israelites stoned him. And they were burned in the fire after they were stoned. 26.And they gathered over Achan a great heap of stones, which still stands today. By this the wrath of the Lord was appeased. It is for this reason that the place bears even now the name of the valley of Achor."
